Galatians 5
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control.
1 Corinthians 13
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails.
If you knew you were about to lose your voice permanently, what is the last thing you would want to say?

I'm pretty quiet, yet if I lost my voice I might discover that I'm a more verbal person than I think I am!
My last spoken words would have to be to tell people I love them, but my last song for Jesus would probably be Amazing Grace - it's so familiar you'd think I'd have tired of it by now, but whenever I sing it deeper layers of truth come forth.
My mind is my own once more.
How I treasure these times! Not high, not low, not blown or tossed about and wondering who I am... just being me, simply resting in the truth.
How long, how long can I hold onto this?
Oh Lord, seal this sanity into me and don't let me ever fall into the pit again!
10 My lover spoke and said to me,
"Arise, my darling,
my beautiful one, and come with me.
11 See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.
12 Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
is heard in our land.
13 The fig tree forms its early fruit;
the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
Arise, come, my darling;
my beautiful one, come with me."

Don’t be afraid baby don’t you cry
Daddy’s here it will be all right
You’re not alone you’re not alone
Don’t be afraid when you’re cold at night
I will keep you warm I will hold you tight
You’re not alone you’re not alone
Look beyond the window there
To the sky above to the open air
Look beyond what you can see
Close your eyes and just believe
The lion roars and the lamb lays down
They live together in a whole new town
They’re calling me and they’re calling you
From the cold hard facts that we’re on our own
To the age old truth that we’re not alone
Don’t be afraid when you scrape your knee
I’ve got a band-aid waiting and a kiss for free
You’re not alone you’re not alone
Don’t be afraid of your blind belief
Because the more you fly the more you’ll see
You’re not alone you’re not alone
Look beyond the window there
To the sky above to the open air
Look beyond what you can see
Close your eyes and just believe
The lion roars and the lamb lays down
They live together in a whole new town
They’re calling me and they’re calling you
From the cold hard facts that we’re on our own
To the age old truth that we’re not alone
Don’t be afraid little warrior bride
Your victory’s on the other side
You’re not alone you’re not alone
Jesus speaking to His followers just hours before His crucifixion said,
"You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you."
(John 15:3)
Two friends of mine had been speaking about this verse, and about cleanliness or otherwise in general, and I felt the theme hovering around me for several days.
One morning I asked Him, "Lord, I know You have made me clean by Your word.... the Bible, the Gospel, but what specifically is the word that you have spoken to me?
I began to roll the question around my mind, glancing down a lane of thought, thinking this would take some time to "work out" when immediately His reply dropped into my spirit, not where I was pondering, but "outside the box" somehow.
Not my voice, not my thoughts, so straightforward, soft and clear!
The Lord said to me,
"You Are Mine."
That's it! That's it! The word He has spoken to me that made me clean - the simple truth of His claim of ownership of my entire being!
Oh thank you Lord, that's so good!
A bruised reed shall he not break,
and the smoking flax shall he not quench:
he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
He shall not fail nor be discouraged,
till he have set judgment in the earth:
and the isles shall wait for his law.
